It was established in 2006 as a new tool in life science publication and http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifhttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
communication, with participation of scientists from leading research institutions. JoVE takes advantage of video technology to capture and transmit the multiple facets and intricacies of life science research. The journal is designed to facilitate the understanding and efficient reproduction of both basic and complex experimental techniques, so as to address two of the biggest challenges faced by today's life science research community: (a) the low transparency and poor reproducibility of biological experiments, and (b) the time and labor-intensive nature of learning new experimental techniques.

CHADWICK LIBRARYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03036601145398684215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8070666750329757983.post-18294884882257274762012-01-19T10:32:00.003-06:002012-01-19T10:38:14.236-06:00The Library in the MoviesDid you ever imagine the library has been a part of so many movies- helping to solve crimes, untangle secrets, provide refuge, entertain, get a date, and yes, even supply books with the assistance of a helpful librarian!

CHADWICK LIBRARYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03036601145398684215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8070666750329757983.post-67032938607525514122012-01-18T08:28:00.001-06:002012-01-18T08:29:56.264-06:00Nothing like a real bookCheck out this short video of what happens in a books store after hours. Pleasant? From my colleague Lynn Ellsworth, a very well done e-hunt!

Paula,

I thought you might be interested in this . . . .

My husband Tom’s 4th grade class participated in a “mystery class”, trying to figure out from clues about sunrise/sunset, latitude/longitude, continent, country, and state the location of ten sites around the world. The clues are spread over several months. Last year, his class participated, and this year, Tom applied for Mt. Pleasant to be one of the sites. We were selected! The process is complete now, and if you want to check out what they put on the web site about Mt. Pleasant, follow these instructions:
1. Google “journey to the north.”
2. Click on “Journey to the north: A global study of wildlife migration: Monarch Butterfly”
3. Click on the picture of the globe identified as “Sunlight and Mystery Class”
4. Click under the globe where it says “Meet the Class of 2009”
5. Click on: Turn Globe at the top of the screen to find the U.S. on the globe and mystery site #10—Mt. Pleasant
6. Click on “Mt. Pleasant.
7. You can read the entry and play the video. The kids narrate the video about Iowa Wesleyan history.CHADWICK LIBRARYhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03036601145398684215noreply@blogger.com0
